A neighbourhood boutique on Massachusetts Avenue

Chaubandi Boutique is a small clothing store in Arlington, Massachusetts. Our dress assortment runs long, natural-fibre and detail-led — cotton and linen maxis, floral prints, and lace and eyelet work — and it sits alongside the sari, lehenga and custom-made occasion wear we have always kept in the shop.

How we choose a dress

We buy for fabric first. Cotton, linen, and rayon and viscose blends carry a print better and wear more kindly through a New England summer than synthetics do. From there we look at the detail — the broderie panel, the eyelet hem, the way a floral is drawn rather than simply printed.

Made-to-order and occasion wear

Alongside the dresses on this site, we make occasion wear to order in the shop. Custom pieces are produced in 5–10 business days and are covered by a different returns rule than our ready-to-wear — please read our refund policy before ordering, or come in and talk to us.
